Rock Solid Defenceman Seva Tolstushko Becomes A Devil

The Canterbury Red Devils are delighted to welcome Ukrainian international defenceman Seva Tolstushko to the club for the 2018 season. Seva comes to the club having played in Ukraine this season and he has also played in French top division.

The 24-year-old D man has represented his native Ukraine in six World Championships from U18 through to senior Div1A and Olympic qualification. In 2017 he won the title of the most stylish player of the Ukrainian Hockey League due to his unique beard.

One of his career highlights is that he amassed sixty-two points from forty-eight games from the defence which paved his team the way for a gold in Ukraine’s top league in 2015-16.

Head coach Anatoly Khorozov commented: “I am very happy to be able to bring Seva to the club. It’s clear that he is a player who loves to compete and he knows the smell of gold having won two championships. Seva plays solid in his own zone and can jump into the play and add points from defence which will suit our team. I know he will fit in perfectly with our group and I am excited for him to get here.”
