May 14, 2012 - Exciting pre-season action was enjoyed by the hundreds of fans who attended the Canterbury Ice Hockey Festival and the feature Exhibition Cup game. In the match between kiwis and international players, the fans got a taste of what is to come during the upcoming NZIHL season.

2012 Exhibition Cup Teams Announced
April 26, 2012 – The Canterbury Red Devils and Minors Ice Hockey showcase one of New Zealand's best line ups to play Ice Hockey for its 2012 CIHA Canterbury Ice Hockey Festival. International and NZ players from the NZ Ice Blacks, NZ U20s, NZ U18s and NZ U16s.
Botany Swarm repeat as NZIHL champions
The Botany Swarm have beaten the Southern Stampede in the grand final of the NZIHL played on the 27th of August in Botany. The close 5-3 victory gives the Swarm their second consecutive title and 4th title in 5 years.
